This following pics are from our next trip, where we departed from our base at Cairns. We headed north to Port Douglas for the girls to have a look at the markets held their every Sunday. The markets didn't let anyone down, I'm not into markets like the girls but I must say they are the most impressive markets I have ever walked through. No pics as a lot of stall holders had signs asking not to take them, maybe they didn't want their photos posted anywhere. Had a good look around the town along with having a big breakfast as we had taken off early for the trip. From here we kept going north to Mossman so we could have a look at the gorge. It had all changed from when I last visited in 1980 as the indigenous people have taken control of the area and have done a wonderful job. It has given them work and a with total control they can put the money towards educating new employees. They have stopped people driving into the areas and making tracks everywhere. With the new information centre having just being completed, large car parks, they put on shuttle buses up into the gorge and as you will see from the photos the place is a picture and a credit to them.
